Welcome to Atlanta where the players play …

This past weekend, the hubs and I took a mini vacation to Atlanta to watch the UFC 145 Rashad Evans v. Jon Jones fight. My husband is a huge UFC fan and I can take it or leave it. One of his favorite fighters in Jon Jones, so when it was announced that this fight would be in Atlanta, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity and I’m glad we didn’t. We had an awesome weekend.

On Friday, we went to the official weigh-ins. The hatred between Evans and Jones was hard to miss as they toe-to-toe faced off with each other. That night we went to a comedy show featuring Joe Rogan (didn’t get any photos here, but it was hilarious).

On Saturday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium in the morning and then UFC 145 was that night. As someone that wanted to be a mermaid when she was younger, the exhibits at the aquarium amazed me. It definitely lived up to the hype. That night we saw 12 fights at the Phillip’s Arena and I was just as into the entire thing as my husband. No matter what you think of the UFC or mixed martial arts (MMA) you can’t deny the athleticism and the heart of these fighters. I would definitely go to another fight.

Sunday saw us recovering from the night before and having Brunch with a good friend of mine from college. We went to Tap and it was fantastic. We had a great time in Atlanta and look forward to our next adventure there.
