I Like to Move It Move It

Who doesn’t enjoy a reference to a random song from the 90s?  Anyway, enough about the cheesy title of the post.  Spring has officially sprung.  Allergies are in full effect, and so is the annual spring cleaning of mi casa.

This year, my husband and I took our spring cleaning a little bit farther than in prior years, hence the song reference in the post title.    Maybe it was too much sunshine, fresh air and allergy medicine, but we are in the process of redoing our downstairs (mainly our living room).    First on the agenda, breaking apart our massive U-shaped sectional and rearranging the three pieces throughout the living room.  Second, we moved our TV across the room (big shout out to my hubby for going underneath the house in the dark crawl space to rewire the TV/cable).   Third, we made our small coffee table a side table between a piece of the sectional and a leather club chair.  Fourth, we offered my mom the furniture we were no longer going to need (hope you like the console table, ma!).

There is still a lot to do.  Artwork, a new coffee table, lamps, hiding some cables and wires, and replacing the ceiling fan with a chandelier of some sort are all on the agenda, as is possibly getting a new TV.  As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day and it will take some time to find the perfect pieces to update our living room.  Once progress has been made, I promise I will share pictures.

Happy Spring!

Lovely flowers at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, CA.

Since the song is already stuck in your head anyway, here it is Madagascar style 🙂
